Adjacent to the Control room on the first floor of the depot is a large area that is used by the tram crews to check for operational notices, rosters etc.  On one side of the room, there are banks of ticket machines and battery chargers.  Each machine has 3 sets of batteries, as on busy days the crews can go through a few sets of batteries.  The machines and batteries are marked up as sets and each has it it own charging location.

The main control room has positions for up to three controllers.  Two in front as can be seen here and space for a third if required behind.  In front is a bank of 24 CCTV screens.  See also the PWI Tour of the control room.

Each controller has a number of screens at their workstations which enables them to either overview the whole system or to control a specific item.  The two main screens are showing track schematics and tram positioning.  Out of sight to the right of these is a PC that is display the event log for the system.

On one of the walls is a schematic of the depot, in a dry wipe/magnetic board, which is used to show tram availability and location within the depot.  For ease of use trams and duty managers are pre-printed on magnetic strips.

Next to the depot schematic are the all important emergency power shut down and "Busman holiday" or should that be "Tramman's holiday" snaps.
