To celebrate two year of the NETTRams@Yahoogroups discussion group and 1 year of public services on NET, a group of intrepid NETTrams@Yahoo groups correspondents met to ride the system and lunch at whereelse - Tramwiches, with a side excursion to see the Nottingham East Midlands Model Railway Exhibition.

The day started for Jamie Steel and myself with an epic grice!.  We both came by train from Loughborough.  Rather then get the direct Central trains service, journey time 17 mins, we got the 09:16 Midland Mainline service which was diverted via:  Trent jct, Trowell jct, Langley Mill, reverse over crossover, Trowell jct, Radford jtc and Mansfield jct to Nottingham, scheduled journey 1 hour 4 mins, although we made it 12 mins early.  Here is our HST getting yellow proceed with caution flag from the Railtrack signalman who was working the ground frame, as we proceeded over the crossover after reversing at Langley Mill..

As I needed to get the bus and tram, I splashed out and brought a Kangaroo ticket see above and below.  In addition SJP  had only brought a Tramrider, so I got him a Cityrider from a NCT bus to use on the bus.

From Highbury Vale, we got tram 202 working 04PF to Phoenix Park.  At Phoenix Park we let 202 go and got the following tram, 207, on the 11SD 11:50 departure.  Here is tram 207 arriving as the 11PD from Station Street.  At the rear is MeridianNick waiting to take a photo.

We took lunch at Tram-Wiches to watch the trams go by, except in the case of SJP, Mr Croydon Tramlink, who clearly was more interested in the paper then tram 207 which was working 11SE, the 12:50 ex Phoenix Park.

The real purpose for peering over the railings at Station Street?  We were all looking along the route of the lines 2 and 3 extension across the roof of Nottingham Midland Railway station, and across the gap by the carpet warehouse.

After an excursion by bus to the Nottingham East midlands Model Railway Exhibition, SJP and I headed to Phoenix Park, where despite some earlier disruption, tram 207 is seen departing on time for her final trip of the day as 11AA, 17:46 to Wilkinson Street and the depot.

After a curry in Radford Rd and a pint at the Frog and Onion SJP and I parted company from the Geoffrey Bennett and Steve Barber who had joined for the meal, at Basford.  Seen here is tram 202 working 03PO at Basford.  Earlier tram 202 was working run 4, so presumably tram running order was switched due to the earlier disruption.
